Blue + Yellow = Green

I can remember being a little kid learning about the color wheel, and how some colors went together, some clashed, and some mixed to make other colors. As a young artist (I could draw the Starship Enterprise better than anyone else as a kid), I was especially intrigued by the concept of mixing colors to make new colors. I used to try it with all sorts of media: paints, crayons, my mom’s makeup.
Imagine my surprise as an adult to learn that the same concept holds true for my thoughts and intentions. As I set intentions for things I want, and hold those thoughts in my mind, I am vibrating on a frequency that is a match to my desires. Since it’s my favorite color, let’s call this frequency blue. But life often gets in the way, and I allow my thoughts to stray toward the opposite of my desires. I begin to notice the lack of what I want, and I vibrate on a lower frequency that is a match to my desire’s opposite. We’ll call this yellow since that’s the opposite of blue on the color wheel. The result, what I end up manifesting in my life, is a blending of blue and yellow: green.
I didn’t want green! I didn’t ask for green! I wasn’t even thinking about green!
This color wheel example is just a metaphor, of course. Let’s look at some real life examples of what I mean.
A Business Example
Here is a great example that I know a lot of entrepreneurs are experiencing these days. Have you ever had a period where you found yourself attracting the wrong prospects? I’ve gone through periods where several prospects approached me to build brand images and web sites, were very eager to work with me, but could not commit to a project just yet. The carrot would dangle before my eyes, but I just couldn’t reach it.
In this case, the “blue” I desired was more clients and increased income. A pretty standard desire for any entrepreneur. If I manifested straight blue, I would have met and signed on all the new prospects I was meeting.
But instead I was getting “green.” I was meeting some great prospects, all of whom wanted to hire me, but couldn’t right now because of budget or some other reason. When this happens, it’s easy to blame external forces at work: the economy is bad, they’re overworked and don’t have the time right now, they had a family issue that is taking up their attention. Whatever it is, there is always some external reason that is an easy scapegoat.
Well I will submit to you that these external forces are simply “how” the green is manifesting. There is a deeper “why” that must be rooted out and eliminated. “Why” do they have no budget right now? “Why” is there an external reason keeping them from hiring me right now?
The answer is my yellow vibration. If I’m getting the same results over and over again from different people, the only possible reason is that I am doing something to attract this. And that thing that I am doing is vibrating on yellow, or noticing the lack of what I desire.
I want these clients. To me they are blue. When I focus on feeling good, I am vibrating on a frequency that matches my blue desires. But I am also noticing that I don’t have enough clients, or enough income yet for the lifestyle that I want, and I am beginning to feel bad about that. Now I am vibrating on a frequency that matches yellow, the opposite of my desires.
If I keep going back and forth between vibrational states, I end up manifesting green. Green is some blending of what I want and what I don’t want. In this example, I attracted a great group of prospects, all of whom wanted to hire me, but they couldn’t hire me yet.
Closer Examination of “Yellow”
The vibration of yellow doesn’t necessarily have to be thoughts that are the exact opposite of your desire. It simply means having thoughts and worries that cause you to feel bad. That’s it.
Yellow can come in the form of worry. Worry is nothing more than planning to fail. Worry removes control of your mind and thoughts from you, and hands it over to your ego - that parasite that lives in your mind that constantly tries to tell you “you can’t,” or “you’re not good enough.” When you lose control of your thoughts to your ego, you can feel it physically. You begin to play worst case scenarios out in your mind, your heart rate increases, and you may even feel a heaviness in your chest. That is the definition of vibrating on yellow.
Yellow can be giving away your power to somebody else. If you are looking for something to happen in business, or a relationship, chances are it requires somebody else doing something as well (like hiring me in my business example). You may sometimes find yourself wondering why this other person isn’t doing this thing you want them to do (why doesn’t she call me? why won’t they hire me now? why doesn’t he get my hints?). When you do this, you have given this other person power to control your happiness. Your happiness becomes conditional to their actions. The waiting causes stress, and that stress is colored yellow.
Yellow can simply be noticing too often that the blue hasn’t gotten here yet. Your desires take time to manifest. But you begin to get impatient, wondering when it’s going to happen. Perhaps you start chatting with friends about your lack of this or that, or constantly update your tweets and facebook status about how this or that went wrong today. It’s all yellow.
Talk about your desires like they already happened, and continue to happen everyday. If you don’t have something positive to post to your friends and followers, then post nothing. If you find yourself worrying and allowing your ego to list a thousand reasons why your plans won’t work, then get in front of a mirror, look yourself in the eyes and say 5 great things about yourself out loud. If you find yourself waiting for some other person to take action to make you happy, then forget about them, and go do something to make yourself happy.
You can only control what you think and do. As soon as you give up that control, you’re telling the Universe you want yellow. When you take control back, you’re telling the Universe you want blue. Keep going back and forth, and eventually you’ll get green.
What is some “blue” that you desire? What can you do, starting right now, to avoid yellow thinking, so you can manifest blue, and not green?
